I am Grouchy!!

I just got back from HEB grocery store and am so grouchy. I'd just like to know who's bright idea it was to hand out balloons to children as they ENTER the store??? I thought it was wonderful today as we went in that there was no greeter, no having to say no thank you we don't want balloons, and no perplexed looks. Until some sweet cheerful shopper walks up to Michael and asks if he could have a balloon she found abandoned. I wanted to say no, but just couldn't see myself leaving this childless shopper standing there holding a balloon. So what do I do, I of course give Jacob permission to go get a balloon for himself. So now a calm trip to the store has become circus. Balloons being bopped. Balloons running around me in circles. Peals of laughter. Balloons in "time out" in the cart. Balloons floating in my face. Now I'm not only pushing a cart of groceries, I'm pushing two giggly boys hanging off the sides and front to be as close as they can to their balloon. Not to mention feet being run over and having to stop for them to fix their shoe, let go of the balloon, move out of the way....If HEB has some kind of twisted scheme to drive their customers batty, so they'll buy their favorite ice cream go home and eat it, IT WORKED!

Oh...grocery shopping...Yuck! As if there isn't enough to deal with...but, balloons? Wow! What an awful idea! However, I have learned to appreciate the free cookie at the bakery counter. It keeps Ellee content for about 5 minutes. If only I could keep my shopping to that long...
