SARAH JANE ROSENLUNDSeptember 27, 2008
6 lbs 8 oz, 19 1/2 inches
My water broke at 1:30 am Saturday morning. What a surprise!!! I wasn't due until Octorber 16th! This was me just before we dropped the boys off at Grandma and Grandpa's so Steven and I could go walking to get labor up and running. I knew I needed to be careful so as not to get an infection, but I was not about to sit in a hospital bed before I even felt I was in labor.

At breakfast Michael saw me rub my tummy and said, "Mom. I dreamed that the baby was born." Jacob loves hearing about dreams and asked him what else and he said, "It made me so happy." I asked Jacob what he thought about me having the baby today and he said it wasn't a good idea because it was too early. He also said, "It would be bad if the baby were born today, because we don't even know what her name is." But they were so excited when they learned that I was going to have their sister.

After dropping the boys off, we found a nice walking path at a school near the hosptial. There was this really pretty butterfly garden that had quite a few butterflies flying around. We spent some good time walking and talking until the contractions picked up and were getting closer together. We headed to the hospital when I neared the 12 hour mark since water breaking.

I was happy to find that I was four centimeters dialated when I was admitted to the hospital. My main reason for waiting was that I very much desired an unmedicated delivery and didn't want pressure from hospital staff and doctor. My doctor (who I felt no connection with)was not too excited about my wishes, but was willing to give it a try. Everything went very well and quick. The doctor didn't even make it to the hospital for the delivery.

Jacob and Michael adore their little sister. It has been so fun watching them. Michael has absolutely taken us by surprise. He is all over her and very cute about it. They love singing to her and Michael clearly has a toe fettish. He always taking them out of her banket and examining them and then tucking them back is so they stay warm. They have both wrapped their beirs in onesies, diapers and blankets. Jacob says that Sarah's little toe is loose like a loose tooth.

Uh...I must have missed the fact that you were pregnant. I was so shocked to see that you just had a baby! Yeah! Congratulations! She's beautiful and you look incredible! I can't believe how cute and little your tummy was on your way to the hospital. I feel like mine is out 4 feet by now. :) I hope things continue to go well with the adjustment of your sweet, new baby. Bytheway--I'm very impressed that you were able to go unmedicated. That's weird that your doctor wouldn't be for that. I'm hoping my delivery goes quick like yours! What time was she born? Congratulations again!
Great narration Wendy. I'm so happy for you guys. I especially like Michael's comment. I can't wait to meet this little girl! Don't let her grow up too much between now and Christmas, okay? :) Love ya
Brooke,
This pregnancy went SO fast. I still can't believe it's over. I kept meaning to make a post about it. Whoops.
