Camping

We had a great time this last weekend camping at Lake Somerville. We left Thursday and were meeting Steven's sister Melissa and husband Dave up there. Dave said the only way they were going to beat us was if we would get a flat tire. Well, we ended up with a flat tire!!!! We pulled over at the Social Security building to fix it. I took the boys up the hill to a rest home to use a bathroom, since the S.S. office was closed. The elderly people enjoyed seeing the boys and we were given three paper Texas fans. As we continues our trip Michael was freaking out that we were going too fast. The spare tire was not balanced and we were vibrating a bit. We were able to find a tire place that was nothing but a big shed with new tires in it. Glad not to buy one, but got our spar balanced. When we arrived at the campsite we were glad to give all the blame to Uncle Dave who beat us there.

The best thing about camping is the time spent together. We went canoeing the last day and got a workout. The boys had a goal of going to the island and looking for treasure. That island wasn't really a small island, it was a big island far far away. It really was work paddling that far and back, but the boys were so fun that we really enjoyed ourselves.

Steven's parents drove out and spent time with us all on the last day. Grandpa Rosenlund loves camping and though they couldn't come this trip, they weren't able to stay away entirely.
